Do’s & Don’ts of Getting A Brazilian By Beauty Salon Great Missenden – Call Us On 01494 865005
Got questions about getting a Brazilian? Great! We’ve got answers. Here’s our list of what to do before and after your Brazilian wax.
Before Your Brazilian: • DO let the hair grow ¼ to ½ an inch—no longer! This is the ideal length for less pain and a quicker wax session.
• DO help prevent ingrown hairs by gently exfoliating the area several days before your appointment.
• DO be very clean. Make sure you shower the day of your wax to help prevent infection. You’ll feel more comfortable and so will your wax technician.
• DO take an anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen a half-hour beforehand, if you’re very sensitive.
• DON’T schedule your appointment for about a week before or during your period, you’ll be much more sensitive, causing more pain.
• DON’T apply any creams or lotions before your wax. You’ll get better results if your skin is dry.
After your Brazilian: • DO soothe the area with cool compresses once you get home.
• DO wash the area twice daily if you are prone to developing red bumps or ingrown hairs. Apply an over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream for a few days after your wax.
• If you develop bumps, DON’T ever pick or squeeze them! This could lead to scarring. DO apply hydrocortisone and benzoyl peroxide gel, pads or wash (all available in your pharmacy without a prescription).
• DON’T wear tight underwear or clothing in synthetic materials to prevent irritation. It’s best to stick to natural fabrics that breathe.

Some women can’t bear the thought of one others can’t live without it. Like everything in life, waxing any part of your body is a choice.
And if you’re a diehard Brazilian fan or you’re just thinking about it, there are some essential facts you need to know before getting your next Brazilian. Let’s take a look at some of them.
1. The Pain Factor—Brazilians are uncomfortable. However, an experienced aesthetician minimizes your discomfort and the possible irritation during hair removal. Here at Oasis Health & Beauty Spa, we use top quality wax that adheres only to the hair, not your skin. In addition, we also use a pre-wax oil to soften your skin and further reduce irritation.
2. Our waxing technicians are trained and experienced—This is key! Our technicians know what they are doing and they do it extremely well. For you, that means the process is fast, usually 15-30 minutes, which minimizes discomfort.
3. Our wax is less irritating than other salon waxes. It is hypoallergenic, extremely flexible and will not get brittle or crack on your skin! This reduces your discomfort and speeds the whole procedure.
4. We use a specific waxing technique just for Brazilians. This technique, part of our on-going training, makes the whole procedure fast, as well as effective.
We are also vigilant about cleanliness—yours and ours! We use antiseptic products that reduce the remote chance of spreading bacteria, fungi and viruses by 99%.
Our experience, education and commitment allow you to relax and enjoy superb results!

Some women simply do not like having hair “down there.” They feel cleaner and sexier without it, and they love the silky softness of it.
If you’re among the fast-growing number of women that love a hair-free intimate area, but you’re concerned about privacy, professionalism, and hygiene, we’ve got terrific news!
OASIS Health & Beauty Spa is highly regarded in all three of these areas, and more!
To start with, we use only the highest quality wax available on the market. That means:
• It’s also perfect for sensitive skin
• Does not adhere to your skin—only hair (Imagine the difference for you with discomfort!)
• Endorsed by dermatologists (and what a fussy lot they are!)
What’s more, we go to every length possible to keep your discomfort to a minimum. Even though our wax does not adhere to the skin, we still apply a pre-wax oil to further reduce irritation.
We never double dip our wax spatulas! And, of course, we wear disposable gloves. It is our on-going commitment to you and our technicians to protect your health from cross contamination.
Our staff has been trained to use a specific technique for waxing your intimate area. That means a faster, less painful way to get smooth results.

4 Key Questions To Ask Before Getting A Brazilian Wax By Beauty Salon Great Missenden
4 Key Questions To Ask Before Getting A Brazilian Wax By Beauty Salon Great Missenden – Call Us On 01494 865005
Mythology abounds on how scary it is to get a Brazilian. The topic even makes for some good raunchy comedy.
So, if you’re one of those women that just hates hair “down there,” you owe it to yourself to get accurate information before you schedule your appointment.
That’s where we come in.
Here’s our list of recommendations for a smooth, beautiful Brazilian.
• Don’t be shy about asking for the technician’s qualifications. Where did she get her training. How long has she been doing Brazilians? Does she have any testimonials?
• Ask about the type of wax used. You want a hard wax. This is best for Brazilians. Make sure the wax adheres only to the hair, not to the skin. Otherwise, your pain factor will be greatly magnified.
• Ask about hygienic practices. What is used to prevent the spread of bacteria, fungi, and the like? How do they ensure your health safety and that of the technician? Is everything disposable?
• Ask about topical pain relief. Do they have a topical to apply to reduce pain? Do they have recommendations for reducing pain before you get to your appointment?
Any reputable spa will welcome these questions and encourage more. We sure do!
We love to show, with enormous pride, our technique for Brazilian waxing, our hygiene practices, our experience, and the top-of-the-line wax we use to ensure a great experience for you!
Who doesn’t love a double dip of their favorite ice cream? But here’s one double dip you don’t want—waxing!
It’s extremely common for salons and spas to do what is commonly called “double dipping.” That means the disposable wooden spatula is dipped back into the wax pot AFTER it has been applied to your skin for hair removal.
It also means it has been double dipped on many other clients as well.
Even though it is a national standard regulation, double dipping is a BIG problem in the beauty industry, and here’s why. Wax is heated to a temperature just above 40 degrees or 4.44 Celsius. That isn’t hot enough to kill viruses or bacteria.
When a salon double dips, it increases your chance of exposure to all kinds of diseases. This is simply not a standard we tolerate!
At Oasis Health & Beauty Spa, we follow the national standard regulation against double dipping. (And even if it wasn’t regulation, it’s just gross!)
That’s why we also reinforce the regulation by intensively training our staff on this issue. You are in caring, capable hands with us. We value your health and ours.
