When Your Shoulders Feel “Pinched”
It happens.
When the stress of life gets in the way, your shoulders feel pinched and tight. Even your upper back will join the chorus of a body pushed too far. These high stress areas love to make their presence known.
Hot compresses help, but when your body is shouting at you like this, it’s time to call in some deep relief. With a pink Himalayan Salt Massage, you can do exactly that and more.
Matured for over 250 million years and preserved under intense tectonic pressure, Himalayan salt has had zero exposure to toxins and impurities. Its minerals exist in a colloidal form, which means they are tiny enough for your cells to easily absorb.
Used warm or cold, these hand carved healing salt stones relieve tissue congestion and irritation. They ground and balance your body’s electromagnetic field and your nervous system. That’s why you become deeply relaxed and healing can take place.
For your neck, shoulder and upper back, we use the smooth edge of the stone. This penetrates deeply and comfortably, loosening tight joints and muscles. The result?
You sleep better, reduce blood pressure, and detoxify your body. The even better news is that the benefits extend further:
• Strengthen your immune system
• Reinforce collagen
• Improve metabolism
• Heal sports injuries
• Neutralize pollutants
• Helps you recover from Adrenal Fatigue
• Calms hot flashes
There are so many good health reasons to make a pink Himalayan Salt Massage a regular part of health regimen, but here’s the best reason of all.
You’re worth it!

Getting Rid Of Freckles
Freckles can occur naturally or develop as a result of sun exposure. They aren’t harmful to the skin, but some people prefer to lighten or remove them for a more even complexion.
There are several ways to overcome your freckles. We have listed several methods you can use.
1. Natural Lightening
Lemon juice, a natural bleaching agent, can be used to make freckles look lighter and disappear. You can also apply a milk-based mask to your face and let it soak into your skin. The lactic acid in milk peels away the top layer of skin, making freckles lighter in appearance. And another way is making a fruit peel. Mixing fruits together and letting them dry on your skin is a natural way to peel away the top layer of skin, lightening the appearance of your freckles.
2. Freckle Removal Treatments
There are various treatments that can help lighten and remove those unwanted freckles. Skin lightening crèmes may be effective for resolving natural and sun-related freckles. Microdermabrasion uses a stream of tiny particles to remove the outer layer of skin, lightening natural freckles or those caused by moderate sun damage. Chemical peels is also an effective treatment that reduces the appearance of freckles by peeling away the top layer of skin. Lasers can also be used to burn the blood vessels just underneath the freckles, reducing their appearance or removing them entirely.
3. Lifestyle Changes
Making some lifestyle changes can be a great follow up to the methods you’ve taken for lessening your freckles. While there are people born with freckles, others develop them over time as a result of sun exposure. So use sunscreen, a lot of it. Make sure you cover your face every couple of hours while you’re out in the sun, and more often if you’re going swimming. Wear a hat and other protective clothing as well.
What you eat also affects your skin. Vitamin C helps to lighten freckles, so make sure you’re getting plenty of it in your daily diet. Citrus fruits, kiwis, spinach, and other leafy greens are all excellent sources of vitamin C.
4. Makeup Solutions
Mineral makeup can help conceal and blend freckles with your natural skin tone. Consult with professional to determine which foundation color works best for your particular complexion.

Should You Go For Lash Tinting?
If you’re one of those women who are always on the go from sun up till sundown, sensitive to makeup, or are always on the rush in the morning, lash tinting might be just what you need.
The reasons above are just a few, here are some more:
- Allergic to mascara
- Avid swimmers, athletes, or outdoorsy
- Mascara runs and it’s embarrassing
- Want to look polished but not really into applying mascara
- Have light lashes and want to enhance eyes without mascara
- Have short lashes and want to define them
If one or more of these apply to you, tinting would be an excellent choice.
Lash tinting only takes about 30 minutes and you’re back to your day-to-day activities. You won’t have to think about your eye “makeup” for 3-4 weeks.

Dealing With Chicken Skin
Getting goose bumps is a normal body reaction. And after a few moments, they disappear. But what if they don’t?
These bumps are harmless, but irritating because they often resemble acne and appear as dry, rough patches of skin.
This is called keratosis pilaris, but commonly known as chicken skin. They appear on the back of your arms, thighs and your bum; it can even appear as a red rash on your cheeks. But what causes this annoying condition?
That answer is excess build up of keratin in the hair follicles. What’s not known is why. If you have a family history of atopic dermatitis, you are more likely to develop it.
So can you prevent it? Intensive moisturizing is key, even as much as several times a day initially. Look for moisturizers that contain urea. These tend to be more effective.
Consider topical retinoids to encourage the skin to turn over more quickly. We can help you there. Don’t forget humidifiers to increase moisture in your house, too.
Chicken skin is considered harmless by the medical profession, but we know it can take a toll on your self-esteem. So take these simple steps to minimize its appearance and get your confidence soaring!

You Too Can Have Beautiful, Luxurious Skin
If you think only the rich and famous can have gorgeous skin, you’re wrong. Intense Pulsed Light can give you the skin you’ve always dreamed of.
IPL therapy rejuvenates, restores and smoothes out uneven skin tone, reducing or eliminating a great number of age-related problems.
With IPL, the light marches right past your epidermis which is the outer layer of your skin. Then, it gently heats the cells of your dermis, the deeper layer of your skin. The different wavelengths of light go after its target like age-spots or broken capillaries.
While the heat is repairing the damage, it’s also commanding your skin to produce new collagen and connective tissue. So the down time is practically non-existent!
Extremely cost-effective, IPL is not invasive, can make a dramatic difference in your skin and how you think of yourself.

Is Your Skin Sensitive
Or Sensitized?
Sometimes sensitized skin can be mistaken for sensitive skin. But beware; there’s a big difference between the two. That’s why you must be very careful when choosing the right makeup and skincare products.
Like dry, oily, or combination skin, sensitive skin is something you’re born with. Usually, people with sensitive skin have fair complexions that flush easily or swell a bit to the touch. They may even get red or blotchy for no apparent reason. The cause for sensitive skin is unknown. Each day is a trial and error when it comes to keeping skin happy and non-reactive.
For those with sensitized skin, conditions such as low humidity, drying chlorine, harsh ingredients like benzoyl peroxide for acne, over-exfoliation, medications, and even aging, can cause a sudden reaction in your skin. Avoiding irritants, keeping your skin adequately hydrated, and using proper skincare for the season is important to restore balance.
If your skin is giving you attitude, visit our spa where we can determine the right skincare products for your specific skin type.

What is the biggest mistake when it comes to exfoliating your skin?
The answer… too much pressure.
Yes, we know you want to get rid of those large pores, those nasty blackheads, and you want to scrub your skin into a glow worthy of sunglasses. But if you apply the force of a pressure washer to the surface of your skin, you’ll be doing more harm than good.
Scrubs are a wonderful way to sweep clean the surface of your skin. But more pressure will only cause irritation, broken capillaries and dryness.
The best way to use granular scrubs is to gently rub in a circular motion. This will safely and effectively remove the dead skin cells, stimulate blood flow, diminish fine lines and wrinkles and give you that beautiful, youthful glow.
Remember these tips:
• Thinner skin should be gently exfoliated once per week.
• Thicker skin can be exfoliated two to three times per week. But just because it’s thicker doe NOT mean rub it harder!
• Acneic skin should use a gel-based exfoliant. These leave skin smooth and soft without aggravating the infection.
Follow our advice and you will soon have beautiful, smooth skin.

Should You Get A Base Tan
Before Going To The Beach?
We’re known worldwide as the “sunburnt” country, and it’s no wonder. Australia has the highest melanoma rate in the world.
That’s why so many people think that getting a base tan from a solarium is a good thing.
It isn’t.
The Skin Cancer Foundation states that, “indoor ultraviolet (UV) tanners are 74% more likely to develop melanoma than those who have never tanned indoors.” (www.skincancer.org)
Tanning beds are so bad that New South Wales and Brazil have banned them. The UK, Germany, Scotland, France, and several other states in Canada have banned them for people younger than 18.
The truth is a tan is an injury to the skin. Repeated tanning sets you up for skin cancer and premature aging.
Why chance it?
Opt for a spray tan instead. You can get a nice even tan in just minutes—and it lasts for a week!
You have no worries of melanoma, premature wrinkling, or developing any of the other many cancers associated with tanning.
Then when you’re in the sun, use plenty of sunscreen and wear a hat.
Don’t forget to use your antioxidant serum for double the protection!

It’s the end of the day. You look in the mirror and you see a shiny face staring back at you. Your T-zone is so oily that you pull out your compact to quickly powder your face.
A lot of women suffer from the same recurrence day after day.
We hear you! You want relief and you want it yesterday. By now you know the oily skin basics.
- Use skin care products designed for your oily skin
- Don’t over dry your skin. You’ll just create more oil
- Make sure everything you use is oil-free
But when these steps aren’t enough, it’s time to add more punch to your skin care.
Add a water-based serum that also contains hyaluronic acid, or HA, a naturally occurring substance in your body. HA attracts 1000% more water than its weight. That’s good news for your oily skin because water is what it’s missing. Continued use of HA reduces oil.
Exfoliate. Nothing good happens when pores are clogged. Your skin feels dry and rough, which makes your oil glands work even harder to try and lubricate your skin.
That’s why exfoliation is so important. At home, choose a clay mask to stimulate circulation and draw out impurities. You can also use an enzyme mask with papaya, bromelain, or pumpkin. All are excellent exfoliants.
Professional Fruit Acid Peel. An alpha hydroxy or beta hydroxy acid treatment will clear clogged pores, minimize size and allow much better penetration of your skin care products.
Are you sensing a theme here? Exfoliation is the key to unclogging your pores, refining your skin, and allowing products to work more efficiently.
The next time you look in the mirror, the results will be reflected beautifully on your face!

You know the symptoms:
- Enlarged visible blood vessels
- Visible broken capillaries
